Merthyr Valleys Homes (MVH) has been a community landlord since 2009 when tenants voted to transfer their homes to a new not-for profit organisation.
MVH, who currently owns and manages over 4,000 homes across the Merthyr Borough, are proudly Wales’ first tenant and employee Mutual housing association, meaning that tenants and employee members own the association as a co-operative. Priding themselves on being a diverse and inclusive company, MVH welcomes and supports their communities and workforce to play a part in steering the Mutual, so it meets community need.
MVH is dedicated to operating for the benefit of its tenants, employees, and the Merthyr Tydfil community, providing exceptional services, homes, youth service and support. After meeting the Welsh Housing Quality Standards (WHQS) within its first five years and developing their approach to strategic asset management, MVH has chosen the market-leading asset and planned works management solution from Asprey Management Solutions. This partnership aims to maintain and enhance MVH’s operations for the next 30 years and beyond.
Stacy Thomas, Director of Homes & Places at MVH said “We are now entering the next stage of home improvements for tenants being WHQS2023, which drives an even better standard and a greater focus on energy efficiency and carbon reduction. Our new Asset Management system will allow us to enhance our strategic planning for the next 30 years as well as delivering an excellent service for our tenants. The Asprey solution delivers an innovative platform and will allow us to be more efficient in our working practices. Asprey are working in a collaborative way with us, which is very positive for MVH and our mutual values.”
David Ellis, Operations Director at Asprey said “it is fantastic to welcome Merthyr Valleys Homes to the Asprey community. We are excited to support their mission with our solution, empowering their users to provide even better service and care to those who need it most. Together, with the MVH asset management team we aim to ensure effective asset and works management is at the heart of their continued and successful property investment strategy.”
